2021 Marvel Black Diamond (UD 2021) signature page
Wondering whose sketchcard you pulled from Marvel's Black Diamond release? Some artists are easy to tell, other artists' scribbles are not so obvious. Some have an artistic flourish of sorts on the front. When found, those are below as well. A couple of brief notes:
- I think this was supposed to be released in 2020, but actually came out in 2021. I'm calling it 2021... that may bite me if this is an annual release and the 2021 set comes out on time.
- I initially used the artist list from Cardboard Connections, but there were definitely some artists missing from it. I then started going through ePack on UD's site and made corrections where needed. Since it was so close to the release date, I nabbed most images from ePack, so it worked out. I'm not sure if there were ePack-only artists, but hopefully I got them all.
- For Marvel Black Diamond there were two different sketch inserts, a "regular" sketch set and the Exquisite set. In the Exquisite one, artists were told to sketch one of 20 specified characters (cards are numbered ESKT-1 through ESKT-20, one for each character). It looks as if there are anywhere from roughly 30 to 40 or so artists that contributed to each of the 20 Exquisite cards. It's also worth noting that some of the artists in the Exquisite pool did not do regular sketchcards, which makes theirs quite limited. That said, some artists may have done only 20 cards for Black Diamond, and some far fewer.
- The list below covers all artists, regardless of if they were only did regular cards, only Exquisite, or both. The card backs are different, so you may see variations there. I did try and get both where I could, but didn't beat myself up to do so.
- There are still some I am missing, and they are noted below with a red block. These signature pages are a labor of love and I can't scour sites every day looking for them, so if you have a scan to help out, please reach out to me and I can include it here.
